2024 Cor Partners Hurricane Relief Campaign Results

Following an eventful 2024 storm season, John Quinn, CEO of Cor Partners, announced the Cor Partners 2024 Hurricane Relief Campaign in partnership with All Hands and Hearts (AHAH). Cor Partners, the parent company of Engle Martin, EIMC, Synergy, Eberl, Envista Forensics, and DBI, holds giving back as an integral part of the organization’s foundation. The goal of this campaign was to raise $50,000 toward the AHAH mission where each dollar donated would receive a 2x match by Cor Partners giving each contribution TWICE the impact. The campaign also featured a special 4x match contribution for funds donated on the week of Thanksgiving 2024. In total, 100+ team members donated $12,788 and with the Cor Partners match, our companies have raised $54,722 total funds. This is incredible work!

2024 Atlantic Hurricane Season

The 2024 Atlantic hurricane season was both highly active and devastating, becoming the second costliest in history with an estimated $232 billion in damages. With it brought record breaking storms notably Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton.

On September 22, 2024, Hurricane Helene began as a low-pressure system in the western Caribbean Sea. The storm rapidly intensified and reached tropical storm status by September 24 near the Yucatán Peninsula. By September 25, Helene had intensified into a hurricane as it raced through the Gulf of Mexico. States of emergency were declared in Florida and Georgia due to the expected hurricane-force winds and storm surges.

On September 26, Helene made landfall at peak intensity in the Big Bend region of Florida with 140 mph winds. The storm caused record-breaking storm surges in Tampa Bay. As Helene moved inland, it brought tornadoes and catastrophic flooding, particularly in western North Carolina, East Tennessee, and southern West Virginia, leaving widespread damage in its wake.

Following the destruction brought by Helene, Hurricane Milton began forming on October 5, 2024. Milton began as a tropical disturbance in the western Caribbean Sea and rapidly intensified into a CAT 5 hurricane by October 7.

Milton’s winds peaked at 180 mph, making it a top 5 most intense Atlantic hurricane on record. As it traveled through the Gulf of Mexico, it fluctuated between a CAT 3, 4 and 5 level hurricane. Making landfall on October 9 near Siesta Key, Florida as a CAT 4 hurricane, the storm caused deadly tornado outbreaks and widespread flooding across Florida.

About All Hands and Hearts

All Hands and Hearts is a worldwide non-profit organization founded in 2017, the result of a merging of two long-running disaster relief programs, All Hands Volunteers, led by David Campbell, and Happy Hearts Fund, founded by Petra Němcová. As of late 2019, the organization has worked with over 58,000 volunteers, hailing from 45+ different countries across the world, and has consistently earned a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent charity evaluator, for 8 consecutive years. Hurricane Ian’s devastating impact called for unprecedented clean-up efforts, including tree and debris removal, gutting, and sanitizing damaged homes, as well as continuous critical repair work.

Cor Partners’ History with All Hands and Hearts

Cor Partners formed a partnership with All Hands and Hearts to assist in relief efforts following Hurricane Ian. In September of 2022, Ian made landfall as a catastrophic CAT 4 storm, leaving behind damage and devastation from torrential rainfall, heavy winds, and flooding. Ian is considered one of the third most costly weather disasters in the history of the United States with damages more than $113 billion dollars.

To uphold the Cor Partners family values as a proudly people-centric organization, Engle Martin team members joined other Cor family teams to travel to Port Charlotte, Florida, in January 2023. Twelve volunteers worked alongside the AHAH recovery teams where they assisted with a variety of clean up tasks.

In addition to the physical relief efforts contributed by these teams, 36 team members within the Cor family donated in excess of $9,000. Cor Partners offered a 2x match for this campaign on every dollar donated and a special 4x match contribution for funds donated on the week of Thanksgiving 2022. The total campaign funds raised by the Cor Partners family of companies was nearly $40,000 for this 2022 campaign.
